Devlog #1 - Episode 2 and plans
Hi everyone!
It's been a while since I've been through this project, but I had plans for a while (probably a year already) to add a few extra levels ("episode 2") and extra content since the game is quite short.
Been learning some programming, and game-related stuff since the last time i touched this project, so I'll be aiming to make the game experience a little better.
In terms of new content, there's been a new power-up addition, and progress in some new levels. One of the main goals, is to make the secret power-ups actually obtainable in the reach of the main path of the game.
There's been other additions like GUI and visual changes, and some minor code stuff related to improving how some of the menus work. Trying to improve feedback with character and mechanics mostly, adding stuff like effects when you die (which previously was just a teleport to last checkpoint and a sound), a few sound effect improvements, and other stuff. The game is there but stuff needs to be polished, and I'll try to do that.
There's been also some ideas lingering around on extra effects to try out, this being one of them:
